Induction machine: stator and rotor MMF
Why the stator and rotor magnetomotive force waves rotate at the same speed even though the rotor itself turns more slowly: the idea slip actually encodes.

What to try
- Vary the slip and watch the rotor MMF stay locked to the stator field
- Note that the rotor turns at (1 − s)·ns while its MMF still rotates at ns
- Set slip to zero and see why an induction machine produces no torque at synchronous speed
